The Mid-Hudson
Family Health Foundation is a 501C-3 not-for-profit
organization devoted to supporting Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute’s
continued excellence in patient care, research and education.
Established in
1996, the Foundation depends on the
generosity of individuals, families, corporations and other foundations to
enhance the quality of patient care, to increase access to family centered
services and to train and recruit health manpower for the Mid-Hudson Region
of New York State. Each year, over 50,000 residents of Orange, Ulster and Dutchess counties receive their primary and
specialty care services through the Institute’s network of health care
centers.
Mission:
The mission of the Mid-Hudson Family Health Foundation is to
“advance the objectives of the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute by
developing financial support from sources not otherwise available”.
Focus:
The Foundation’s focus is to enhance public awareness of the
importance of the Institute to our communities throughout Ulster, Dutchess
and Orange Counties and to promote the Institute’s services in patient
care, medical education, research
and community outreach.
Goal:
Our goal is to
educate donors about the funding options available to support the Mid
Hudson Family Health Institute Programs and to insure the long-term financial
future of the Institute.
Donations:
All donations to the Mid-Hudson Family Health Foundation are handled
with professional care and efficiency, to ensure the maximum impact of
every dollar. Donations may be made for any number of reasons, such
as to honor a loved one or friend or an especially caring nurse, physician
or healthcare team. Gifts can be made in a variety of ways,
including:

Pledges over a period of years

In-kind gifts of materials or services
Ø
Charitable Remainder, Annuity or Lead Trusts

Gifts of real estate
Ø
Irrevocable trusts and bequests

Use of Funds:
The Foundation has
supported a number of vital programs and objectives of the Institute over
the years including, but not limited to:

Renovations and furnishing of the Pediatric Care Center of Kingston.
¨
Helen Osburg annual medical student scholarship program.
¨
Annual family practice resident awards for outstanding quality and
commitment to the specialties of Psychiatry, OB/GYN and geriatrics.
¨
Joseph Burderi annual Excellence in Nursing Award
¨
Sponsor of the “End of Life Care” training series for resident physicians
and faculty
¨
Hardware support for the family practice residency’s computerized system of
tracking resident physician procedures and clinical experience.
¨
Purchase of audio/visual equipment for general educational purposes
