David Mesches, MD
Chairman
As one of the original founders of the Institute, Dr. Mesches has
served as its Chief Executive Officer from July 1983 to December
2004, he became chairman of the board in January 2005. Dr. Mesches
was the catalyst for the establishment of the Mid-Hudson Consortium as well
as the Department of Family Medicine at New York Medical College, serving as
the first Chairman for both entities. In 1979, Dr. Mesches
established the Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency Program as its
Administrative Director. Recently Dr. Mesches became the first
Chairman of the newly formed Department of Family Practice at Westchester
County Medical Center, the Institutes tertiary care affiliate. Prior
to his career with the Institute, Dr. Mesches served in the United States
Air Force and maintained a private practice in New Paltz, New York.
Anthony P. Costa

Mr.
Costa was one of the original members of the Board of Directors since its
inception in 1983 and remains dedicated and committed to its
mission. Mr. Costa has served on the Benedictine Board of
Directors for over ten years holding the position of Chairman for six of
those years. Mr. Costa brings financial expertise to the Institute
Board as previous President of Mid-Hudson Savings Bank (formerly Inter-County Savings Bank) and through his prior
employment with Peat, Marwick & Mitchell. His past and current
community relations include membership on various Boards of local
educational institutions, government and health organizations. Mr.
Costa is a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Finance
Committee of the Board.
Norman Burg, MD

Dr.
Burg held the position as the first Program Director of the Mid-Hudson
Family Practice Residency Program, joining David N. Mesches, M.D. in the
establishment of resident training in Ulster County. In addition, Dr. Burg
has served as Vice President Administrative Affairs of the Institute and
Medical Director of Ferncliff Nursing Home, the training site for the
Residency's geriatric medicine. From 1995 to 2004 Dr. Burg served as
Chairman of the Board of the newly established Mid-Hudson Family Health
Foundation and served as Medical Director of the Catskill Alliance of
Physicians. Dr. Burg is currently Chairman of Graduate Medical
Education
John Anderson, MD

Dr.
Anderson was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Mid-Hudson Family
Health Institute in January 2005. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1974 and received his MD
degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia in 1981. He completed his
Internship and Residency training at the Ulster County Rural Family
Practice Residency Program of the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute from
1981 to 1984. Dr. Anderson maintained a solo private practice until joining
the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute in 2000.Dr. Anderson has
participated in leadership positions with the county and state medical societies,
as well as at the Kingston Hospital. He has also served on a variety
of community boards, including the Mid-Hudson Family Health Foundation, and
Institute Board of Directors. Since joining the Institute, Dr.
Anderson has served as Director of Undergraduate Education and Residency
Program Director.
William W. Davenport

Ulster County businessman, William W.
Davenport is Chairman of the Board of Heritage Energy, a Hudson Valley petroleum business in which he
previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr.
Davenport is a past President of the Benedictine Hospital Board of
Directors and has served on it for twenty years. He has provided the
Institute with vision, direction and accountability as a result of his
experience related to the health care field. Among his civic
activities he has served as Marbletown Republican Committee Chairman,
Vice-Chairman of the Stewart-Newburgh Airport Commission, and is currently
a Director of Friends of the Hudson Valley
Paul DeLisio

Mr.
DeLisio joined the Board of the Institute in 1986 He served on the
Benedictine Hospital Board of Directors for over 35 years he brings vision
and commitment to patient care to the Institute. Mr. DeLisio is a prominent
businessman in the City of Kingston, having maintained a financial
consulting firm and insurance agency since 1965. He has been active
in civic affairs for the past 36 years in the Town of Woodstock and Ulster County. Mr. DeLisio is also a
member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Space Acquisition
Committee of the Board.
Robert Hansut

Mr.
Hansut has served as a member of the Kingston Hospital Board of
Trustees for over 25 years, Mr. Hansut
has been donating his time generously to the community, serving nine years
on the Highland Board of Education, twelve years on the Town Board as a
Councilman and two terms as President of the Ulster County School Board
Association. Mr. Hansut is also a life member of the American
Legion, charter member of the Highland Rotary Club and a Treasurer of KDB
Marketing & Promotions Inc. As a retired executive of thirty-six
years with Central Gas & Electric Company, he brings to the Board of
the Institute the industrial views on healthcare as well as a civic spirit
as a community leader in the Town of Lloyd. Mr. Hansut also is a
member of the Executive and Nominating Committees of the Board.
Mark Josefski, MD
Trustee
Dr. Josefski is a graduate of Colgate University and the State
University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Josefski
completed his residency at the Family Practice Residency Training Program
at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center/University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Josefski
joined the Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute in 1989. He has served as
Director of Student Training Program Director of the Family Practice
Residency Training Program and as Chair of the Graduate Medical Education
Committee since May 2004, at which time he was appointed to the Board of
Directors. He has also served as chairman of the Education Commission of
the New York State Academy of Family Physicians and has been on their board
of directors since March 2002. Dr. Josefski is currently the
Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute's representative on the NYCOMEC Board of
Directors. He is active in community affairs including serving on the
Board of Trustees of the Kingston Area Library and the Kingston Hospital
Foundation.
James Leary

Mr. Leary joined the Institute
Board of Directors in 1996, as a Director and member of the Executive and
Finance Committees of the Board. Mr. Leary has been employed by First
Hudson Valley Bank, currently holding the position of Senior Vice
President. Together with Mr. Costa, he sits on the Finance
Committee of the Board, providing financial direction and expertise in
budget development and ongoing financial management. Although involved in
many civic organizations over the years, he currently concentrates his
commitment to the community as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Town of Esopus Library
Thomas Roach
Trustee/Secretary
Mr.
Roach is a graduate of Villanova University and served in the United States
Marine Corps as a Captain. He served as Commissioner of
Social Services in Ulster County until his retirement in June of
1997. Since his retirement Mr. Roach has been very active in civic affairs
on the county and state levels. He currently serves as the chairman
of the Advisory Committee for the State Office of Children and Family
Services and as the Chairman of the Early Intervention Coordinating Council
for the State Health Department. He is also a Board Member of the Ulster
County Industrial Development Agency and The State Communities Aid
Association. He has also been active in the Cancer Society and the United Way of Ulster County. He served as an Ulster County
Legislator for ten years, four of which were as Chairman.
