Dr. Walter Woodley joined the Institute for Family Health in 2007 when the Institute acquired the former Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute. At that time he was medical director of the Family Practice Center of Kingston, in Kingston, New York, a position he held since 1992. Dr. Woodley's 20 years of experience in practice management, community outreach, and medical resident education were soon recognized: he was named medical director of the Hudson Valley Region with oversight of clinical operations at seven health centers.
Dr. Woodley received his undergraduate and medical education at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and his training in family practice at the Rural Family Practice Residency at the Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals in Kingston, New York.
Dr. Woodley is keenly interested in youth health and development. He is medical director of the Kingston City Schools Consolidated and is a mentor for pre-med students at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
